Kate is the Director of Evelyn Productions and founder and manager of the live music night ‘ThisisWIRED’. Over the past 9 years, ThisisWIRED has made itself at home at one of London’s premier members club, Shoreditch House, their sister club Concrete, Notting Hill’s The Tabernacle and even travelled as far as Soho House New York, Soho House Miami. This live music event has acquired a cult following and an increasingly widespread audience, from signed and unsigned acts, to household names and internationally acclaimed creative individuals.
Kate studied performing arts in both Cambridge and New York, and gained some success as an artist herself along the way. She later studied music business at SAE London. Over the years, her affiliation with the Soho House Group gave her the opportunity to work on prestigious official parties such as, The Oscars, BAFTA, and the Cannes Film Festival as part of their events team.
Most recently, ThisisWIRED has extend it’s reach further still by programming an exciting, new, 3 day Arts & Music Festival called Scarborough Fair Festival, due to hit the picturesque coast of Cayton Bay in May 2016.
As well as organising ThisisWIRED Kate also manages at OddChild Music the first and only sub label of Simon Cowell’s label, Syco. OddChild is home to some of this generation’s greatest music makers: Labrinth, Etta Bond, Chris Loco, Avelino, Moon Willis and Raf Riley.
Joining TIW in November 2016, an Australian-native, Sophie is TIW’s project management extraordinaire. An avid music fanatic, Sophie’s background is in marketing and PR and has headed up many projects in Australia including launching Dr. Martens Stand For Something live music series in Melbourne In 2014. She is an all-rounder with a keen eye for detail and is Kate’s right-hand-woman. She is also a techno fiend.
Lawrence (codename; Moley Mole JR) is head of the Secret Talent Detective Division. Burrowing his way into Wired HQ many summers ago, the spy school graduate promptly offered his services to Michael and Kate. With a very particular set of skills at his disposal, this young dirt digger set up a special task force to infiltrate nights and uncover talent in the farthest reaches of London. The mission? To bring them to Wired. Armed with an infallible disguise (a pretty dashing pair of antlers), he has earned his stripes as the best undercover agent this side of Hackney.
Nneka (the secret mole) is the talent scout at ThisisWIRED. A unique set of expertise in knowing a special artist when she hears one. You can catch this fun loving and friendly face at all live events and shows in and around London, scooping out the hottest talent and hauling them over to TIW.
Since graduating from Sheffield University with an MA in Music (2009), Liam has undertaken a number of roles in the UK creative industry. A Director at SBTV, Liam has played both a creative and business development role and continues to drive growth strategy for the brand. Away from SBTV, Liam consults for Syco Entertainment and Odd Child Recordings, contributes to i-D magazine and is the Duck & Cover Brand Ambassador AW13.
Chris Loco is a producer, writer and DJ signed to SONY/ATV. Chris works with some of the biggest names in the music industry, including Emeli Sandé and Kylie Minogue. He has also had cuts with Kwabs, Raleigh Ritchie, Joe Budden and Elijah Blake. Chris’ had his first Top 5 single in 2014 with Lullaby (Professor Green ft. Tori Kelly). Chris released his first EP “See No Evil” in 2015 with a host of features including Raye, Ina Wroldsen and Kojey Radical.
You will normally find Alistair Wilson aka Hey Mr. Wilson tucked away in a corner of a boutique festival, providing eclectic beats to the weird and wonderful. From Spanish hip-hop to Samba he likes to keep his sets fresh and varied, with no genre left unexplored. He planted his roots firmly in the deep house and disco scene before his penchant for variety crept more and more into his sets, keeping revelers on their toes and smiles on their faces. Influences include Giles Peterson and Mr. Scruff, his sets aim to please and spread the love. So if you catch him playing sometime soon, remember to hug your mates, hug some strangers and to keep on grooving!
Everyone’s got all the same tunes these days, so it’s really about HOW you play them – Khalil’s style is unique, seamlessly going from tune to tune, genre to genre effortlessly. He will keep the vibe going, keep your body moving but will keep you on your toes for the next track. He’s played at Hip Hop Kemp festival in the Czech Republic and is a regular at Lovebox Festival, Secret Garden Party Festival, has recently supported the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Mac Miller, Danny Brown, A$AP Rocky!
